Mandalorian - This Is The Way

Finished my Mandalorian diorama called ‘This Is The Way’.

Started by posing and puttying/resculpting all the articulation points. Had to sculpt the lower half of Grogu’s coat since he was designed to sit in his pram. I used watered down glue to position Mando’s cape and Boba Fett’s pants. Also scratch built Boba Fett’s Gaffi stick. The rock was sculpted from aluminum foil and Durham’s Water Putty.

I used LED filaments for the jetpack and flamethrower lighting. Covered the jetpack exhaust with Poly-fil and sealed with watered down glue. Built up the flamethrower flame with liquid UV resin.

I think we saw this at either WonderFest or IPMS/USA Nats. I didn’t realize the flame and jetpack exhaust were lighted. Nicely done!

This is the way indeed. Very nice! I assume these are the Ban Dai kits? I like the way you hid the articulation points. Really eliminates the “toy” look.

Great job with the lighting. The way you chose to do so made this into a very lively scene. :+1:

Beautifully done, Rob!
The articulation points-I think that’s almost a regular bit of putting together figures like this. It reminds me of building Maschinen Krieger suits. The kits come with soft plastic joint pieces, but they look so much better with sculpted putty covers.

Nice, very nice. I really liked the exhaust effect on the Mandalorian’s jet pack.

That is insane! Nicely done!

I think you’re right about that. I seem to remember this one at the Nats in New Braunfels???

Either way…this is a modern art masterpiece here @veedubb67 . Your scratchbuilding is off the charts bud. WOW!!!

It was on display at the Madison Nats.
