Shot some OD on my Azimut Mack NO tonight. My tape on the template experiment failed, so I just used the template normally. The tires are getting a coat of dust and pastels anyway, so it’s not the end of the world.
The pics have the wheels just propped on. They aren’t glued on yet, so are a bit wobbly. Last pic is a comparison shot to my in-progress 38(t), just to show the scale of this enormous creature.
Next comes painting the seats and dash, and then after it’s dried a few days, the gloss coats and dullcoat. Then the decals (gotta get me some!), umber wash, a drybrush, and weathering.
Very nice Larry. Don’t even worry about the wheels. As you said, after the weathering, you won’t be able to tell at all. I can’t wait to see this finished. It’s been a long time comming! [:)]
Thanks guys. Yeah, I know, I can’t remember a time that I wasn’t building this thing. [(-D] Then again, I felt the same way about the Panther. This one I’m taking straight to completion before I pick up another kit … I promise!
I have to admit, this makes me want to finally build my FAMO – a huge truck that’s (relatively speaking) easy to build.
I just love your NO, …err, I mean YES…no, that’s wrong, your NO. Yeah, that’s right!
She’s looking superb. I have always wanted to tackle this kit, but was a bit afraid to spend the sheckles and be stuck with a dog. I’m new to the site, is there another thread that covers the earlier portion of the build-up?
Yup, tread, there is a group build in which I set out my trevails, I mean, experiences with the kit. It’s the Towed Gun Group Build, in the Group Build Forum. Caution. It’s a long thread! I mean, 800+ posts long. (No, they are not all mine. Only about half. [:p])
Nice job, Larry. I’ve stayed away from reading the encyclopedia called the Towed Gun Group Build, so this is the first I’ve seen this guy. Thanks for posting it.
