Machinen Gelgoog

Next project that I am starting. The inspiration/plan for this one is mixing the mecha form from gundam with the gritty style of Machinen Krieger. In short this will be a study in both textures and weathering.

With the progress here on the foot as an example piece, my plan is to do a heavy cast texture on the dark color parts and a light texture on the pink pieces. This will then be unified with a weld bead between the two.

For the inner mechanical parts with be a dark metalic, (have not decided on color yet), with some colored accents. I also plan to add some weathering in various places where it would seem appropriate. Will figure the specifics later.

One area i am think of modifying is the center nozzels. This is because they are to large for that position and prevents the outer puece from properly fitting.

Lastly is the totality of progress made tonight.

I didn’t even know you could do that. I’ll be watching with interest-for sure.

Thats the great thing about all these kits, at the end of the day they are a blank canvas upon which to create.

We have legs now

Hips are now assembled. Starting to see places where I am going to do weathering once further along.

Interesting concept. Mixing the styles of the Ma.K. and Gundam worlds. I look forward to discovering your process.

Yes, I like where this is going. I’ll be watching

I am also curious. Will there be 2-cycle gas engine heads poking out of various body parts? Strength Rogin armor?

Got the chest piece assembled

It won’t be 1 to 1, but it will absolutely have alot of the look and feel to it. Ideally it will not look out of place if placed with Ma.K kits.

Cool!
I got curious and decided to see what AI art thinks Ma.K. + Gundam looks like. What it produced was unexpected.

Kind of felt like it was more of a combination of Michael Bay Transformers + Gundam. LOL

I think whatever you produce is going to be far superior!

Actually that’s not too far off from what I was aiming for.

See, now I have no idea as to what to expect.
Which isn’t a bad thing.
It builds the dramatic tension!

Been a few weeks away from this project, was out of town one week and was not feeling geeat the other, but made a little more progress. Got the head done and attached. One thing i did decide on was to use the alternative antenna fin as it looks more in line with the look i am going for. Plus im thinking i might run a wire from the tip to the other ornament on the back of the head ala aircraft antena wire.

Been away from this project and finally got more work done. Big thing is got the arms done. With that i started marking which areas will get what level of work, specifically a lighter or heavy coating. Will make sense later.
