Macchi C. 205 Veltro

Aviazione Co-belligrante Italiana (ACI) 378 Squadriglia, Cagliari-Elmas, Sardinia, 1944

Comparing it with its older brother, that was less heavily armed, had a different wing and the lighter DB501 powerplant.

Very nice! Beautiful Italian airframe. Nice paint job. How did you do it?

I used little cocktail sticks.

That’s a how-to video I’d like to see!

Beautiful smoke rings!

Both of those are absolutely stellar. Very well done sir. I have this kit as well as several other Italian aircraft in my stash. As such, I too would be very interested in how your cocktail stick painting technique works. Please share.

Cheers, Joe

Oh wow, Italian aircraft are some of the most attractive Second World War planes. Love the smoke ring camo!!! I too would love to hear how you do it with cocktail sticks!!!

Wow very nicely done Sir! I too would love to see the smoke ring how to video, you nailed it!

Hi Joe and gamera,

Sorry I didn’t get back to you aerlier, but pneumonia got in the way.

I handpainted the smoke rings using the thinnest brush I could fine and thinned the acrylpaint. Though I worked carefully I considered the rings to be too thick. So with the smae bruch I made them thinner by applying desert sand colour in the inside of the rings. That looked much better. To make them a bit rougher I used the cocktail sticks, dipped them in the green paint and aded these little bulges. Hope this helps you out.

Cheers from Holland!

Jan

Hi,

These paint jobs look great too.

Pat

Oh cool, thanks for letting us know.

And I hope you’re feeling better. Your health is way more important than this forum!
