I’ve got two Italeri M7 Priests, one in final detail and one in the pipeline, but I need replacement tracks for both. The kit’s tracks are breaking apart faster then I can sew ‘em together (They both gotta be 20 years old). I’m tired of messin’ with 'em so I’m breaking down and going for replacing them… I’m one that actually LIKES the loop tracks, but this kit’s beating me. The only salvation is to model it with thrown tracks, either in a maintenence dio or combat damage… Apparently, I can’t come up with the key words to do a search for after-market tracks… Find plenty of German and Russian stuff, but no joy on M3/M7 tracks…
Hans
AFV club make a pretty complete line of aftermarket tracks either in rubber or indy links for most US equipment from WWII to present.

These guys have their entire catalog online but once you find what you want…do a search. In general the AFV indy links run ~$12 and the rubber bands ~$7.
Hope that helps. Watch your max QE!!

Ah, there we go… Steel on steel, Redleg…
HVH: you know that the M7 HMC used the same tracks as Shermans, right? That’s what you should be searching for. Maybe ask to see if anyone has some spare T-48 tracks from the Tamiya M4 Early Prod kit or T-49s from the Academy M12 GMC?
Yeah, knew that… The issue I had was my search keywords… Ordinarilly I don’t have that kind of problem doing a search, but yesterday was filled with brain-cramps… Fair amount of Percocet as well, come to think of it… (I’m scheduled for a hip-replacement next month, so I get some pretty good stuff for now, but it has it’s drawbacks…[zzz])
Hans,
I have loooootttttsss of spare ruberbandies from these kits!

Just Pay Me back for the postage.

Hans, my E-MAIL is; foerstertm@yahoo.com
hey hans i know what you are going thru frist hand. i uesd super glue to try and hold them down it worked for a while then went back to it a few days later they feel apart and the plastic body melted. so its in the trash as of last week or so.
Italeri’s Shermie tracks drive me nuts. Well detailed but won’t take paint and pure #*!! to mount on the model. AFV Club’s one-piece T49 tracks work great and conform to the suspension well, and they’re very reasonably priced. Pic is an idea…
The cleats wouldn’t clear the fenders on the damn Italeri kit…
Honestly, this is the first time I’ve had real trouble with those tracks, but they were both in the Testor’s’/Italeri boxes, so they were at least 15-20 years old when I opened the boxes…
Hmmm…here’s the Italeri M4A1 with the same tracks.
Thry’re not well laid down in this pic, clear OK…
I get all worked up when the tracks in an otherwise good kit are not usable. My pet peeve…
I’ve had the same prob for years with Italeri tracks of all kinds so I try to find some AM tracks right from the jump. I kinda favor indy tracks and the RHPS sherman tracks are available again under a new name. You can find them at www.pandaplastics.com. even though they’re indies they are pretty inexpensive at around $24.00 and are semi workable and are pretty easy to assemble compared to Model Kasten tracks. Only replacement tracks I havent found are for Italeri’s M110 and M107 SPG’s I know they are available so will have to look for those when I get in the mood for “modern” arty. Rick Martin
The only replacement tracks for the M107/110 I have found are resin from a company called SP Designs.
PS…The link goes to a plastic fabricator in NV…did you put the right link here???

To everybody, ooooops. I put the wrong link here for the RHPS shermy tracks. Its 'sposed to be
www.shermantracks.com my apologies to anyone who was inconveinienced by my dumb error. As we used to say “xin loi” or sorry bout that. They seem to be very responsive since I asked about the possibility of offering a couple of styles of HVSS tracks. I think they may consider this after seeing how their present product is selling. The price is good, the detail ain’t too bad and so far everything I’ve ordered has been readily available with about a week or so for delivery. Their web site also gives some history and usage info for the different styles of track along with some advanced assembly tips which RHPS didn’t provide. After putting some MK tracks together (very nice but very time consuming) I found the Panda tracks to be much better. Try em, you might like them. Again, sorry for the incorrect link. Try the one in this post. Rick Martin
Hans,
were you able to fix yer priest up with those tracks I sent ya???
Tom
Yes I was… Thanks! When you said you had a selection, you sure weren’t kidding… email me and we’ll settle up that shipping…
