It’s been awhile since I posted anything here and wanted to let you guys know I am still around and working on plastic bits. Here is my Sherman M4 from Tamiya with a Eduard PE set and some Scratchbuilt stuff and Verlinden stowage with a Plus Model Bucket. The fountain is also from Plus Model. Water is Red Star Miniatures Water effect (Very nice stuff BTW) The water from the fountain is stretched clear sprue. I still need a lot of weathering on the fountain, and you can see what is lacking form the Sherman. I do have a Verlinden 50 cal for the turret, I am just waiting to add it and the hatches till after everything is mounted and I stand less of a chance breaking them off (Already broke the antennae off!!) The Cobbles are sans grout and are simple dried split peas. Some may say they are out of scale, but I think once I get them all filed in, painted and worn down they will look ok. The flag stones around the fountain are just blocks of wood cut on my trusty dremel table saw, sanded and glued into place.
I hope I don’t offend anyone by showing my Sherman and its Dio here, I know there’s a separate forum just thought it would be OK here. When finished I will let y’all see.
Thanks for looking and let me know how bad I screwed up.
(BTW, I intentionally mounted the stamped road wheel as stowage on the front hull. Trying to show the combo of parts thrown together as the was progressed)
I built the same kit with the same PE some months back. Weren’t those tool tie down straps fun to trhead through their itty-bitty buckles? Your build looks excellent. I really like your paint finish. I think your split pea cobblestones will look fine when finished.
The only criticisms that come to mind would be that a couple of the satchels on the glacis seem a tad out of place, particularly the one high in the center.
Look forward to seeing the finished dio. [tup]

I love the peas, also. Looking nice. I love the different spare wheel. I did that a while back on a M4A4 with the same thoughts. Newer replacment parts.
split peas BRILLIANT! That shermans looking real good and mean. I have to admit that I did the same kit with Eduards PE set, but I didn’t do the tool tie downs. That Sherman has a good subtle weathering treatment. I can’t wait to see the finished dio.
Mmmmmm…peas. Yummy looking dio Ted and not a bad looking Sherman you have there. I like the weathering and the fountain is way cool. Very clever idea. Thanks for posting it here.
