M3A2 halftrack - backdate.

Another project - backdating Tamiya’s M3A2 halftrack to M3A1.
I have a lot of detail (rivets etc) to replace after removing the rear racks and side ladders but here is the progress so far.

I plan on replacing all the tie down loops with fine wire, I shaved half of them off removing the ladders anyway.

hope you like it and, of course, comments and suggestions welcome.

Derek, you must have been bitten by the OD bug. You are certainlly busy these days. Lookiing good so far.

Derek are you going to leave it with a patchy fade on the paint because what I see now looks good and makes me want to bust out my half-track kit.Digger

Its looking good I am going to be doin some kit bashing a M3 in 1:76 scale in a few weeks. Cant wait to get started…I will be mounting a 40mm bofors gun on M3 Chassis to make a T54 or T60.

[:D] looks good so far,i have the same kit [in the box][:D] when i biuld it i will do it oob its better for me to not scratch build.but that is me .[:D]

looks like its coming along. after this build you should make that futuristic halftrack that was on the forum a while back, you know the one that looked like it would suit batman better that the battlefield…[:D]

Looks like you’re off too a good start Derek. Have always thought the M3 to be an interesting subject. Keep us posted on how it’s going. Look forward too seeing updated pics. Semper fi, mike

Another interesting project, Derek! Keep us updated!

One of my favorite subjects, and your’s is looking great. Keep us posted.

I’m looking to get a couple of the conversions from AEF Designs for the M3. Does anyone have any experience with this company?

Oh, I’m also looking for the Dragon 251/22. I’m fascinated with those tank-killer variants of WWII halftracks, I guess.
