Does anyone know if the M3 Honey was used in Normandy.
No, by the time of the Normandy invasion, the Allies were using the M3A3, M5 and M5A1 Stuarts.
Rob, Your not entirly correct, Sgt Jeb Stuart and his “Haunted” tank, from G.I. Combat! They came ashore on D-Day and fought all they way! Reading to many Haunted tank issues was probably why I went into armor after the Air force said I couldn’t Fly… Good Hunting, G.W.
I read some of those same comic books. The tank morphed throughout the series depending on who the artist was. I agree that the haunted tank was most likely some early variant of the M3 to M3A1, but I tend to discount the use of the comic book as a source of historical reference.
His 37mm gun could take out a Tiger fairly easily though.
Mouhahahahahaha!!! [(-D]
Not entirely true Rob. While the M3 Honey was no longer in service, some British recce troops were still using M3A1 Stuarts(Stuart III) well into the Fall of '44 in NWE.
