I am currently biulding the old Tamiya M2A2 Bradley and was wondering what is the best way to get that reflective redish yellow finish on the drivers viewport lenses. Also since this Bradley will be depicted in Desert Storm should I overspray the desert sand over a green finish or just go straight to the desert sand. Most of the pics I have from the war looks like the Bradleys had a pretty clean desert tan finish.

For the anti-laser coating on modern optics, I first paint the optic black, then a couple coats of clear red, and a couple coats of clear gloss. This allows the light to reflect off and changes color from red to blue to purple, just like the real thing.
M2A2 Bradleys were brand new during ODS. They were actually delivered and fielded to units in the Saudi Arabian desert shortly before the ground war began. The units pulled up to the fielding sites and backed their old M2A1s up to their new M2A2s, cross-loaded personal gear, inspected the equipment that came with the A2s, signed for them, and drove their new M2A2s away. They were factory painted sand and had good finishes.
