M29 Weasel

Another small vehicle that I would love to own,the m29 Weasel. This is the old Monogram kit,a nice little kit and again it lends itself very nicely to detailing. I thought it would be interesting to do just a simple beach scene, tide out and add a tank trap.[:)]

It`s an oldie,enjoy![:)]

I built that very kit back in the 80’s but it didn’t look anything like that when I was done. You have a real eye for detail. Thanks for sharing!

Looks great. Very nice painting of the figures. Thanks for sharing.

Regards, Rick

Love the cluttered look of the vehicle. Nicely done.

another nice dio sasd!![tup]

Nice build, to bad Monogram doesn’t bring some of those Oldies back out

You and me both Grandad,I basically grew up on Monogram and Tamiya armour kits back in the 70s! Love to get my hands on the old Monogram German 8rad AC again, haven`t seen one around in years.
Thanks for all the comments guys, glad you all liked the vig.

This kit was reissued in the late 1990s. I remember them at the Hobby Lobby when I was stationed at Redstone Arsenal. I was there from January 1996 to January 1999. That’s also when the M48A2 Patton and M4A1 Sherman Calliope were reissued as well.

The only problem with these old reissues is listening to folks who buy them and don’t realize that they are reissues. They complain about the “terrible” kits.

Thats probably why I was able to find this one! Now theres a kit I never did get to do,
m4a1 sherman calliope,I did the Lee the m48 and the Hedgehog but never found the calliope! Thanks Rob for the info.

Nice work![tup]

Just use caution when looking for one. The older issues with the highly coveted Shepard Paine diorama inserts can go for some serious money. The reissues should go for anywhere between $10 and $20. I bought mine from Squardon for $9.99 when they were clearing out the Revell and Monogram reissues.

Again ,nice work Sasd

Another nice vig Russ.[tup]

When buying watch for the copyright date on the box, R-M started to put the current reissue year on to defeat dishonest collectors

Got a question, guys.

Are the “boat hull” pieces separate, or are they molded onto the hull? I’m REALLY interested in doing a Weasel dio since the vehicle was created specifically for the First Special Service Force. The kit builds up to an M29C, which wasn’t used in Europe. I’d like to build one as an early production M29.

I’m one of the founding members of the FIrst Special Service Force Living History Group, but aside from a few modified figures, I haven’t been able to model anything from the unit. Someday I’ll have to build a halftrack with a French 75 on it, but I’d like to start with the Woozle for my first Force dio.

heh, rudders, cool.

I like it! I may have to find one to build. Hopefully it will come out as good as yours. [:)]

OOOOO’ how cute. [:D]

Great build, thanks for sharing.

Jon,they are part of the hull, guess it wouldnt be too hard of a conversion to build one without the boat parts,a little bit of cuttin to do though, good luck! And again many thanks for all the comments about this old kit,as far as Im concerned
I had many a fun day building Monogram Armour back in the 70s and 80s!
