Is it better than the tamiya kit? Which one is the best?

As in the post M1Garand linked to, I think so, depending on what you are looking to build. The new Dragon M1A1 AIM, which should be in stores by the end of the month will be the sest on the market.
Would this be a Sherman in operation for the D-Day landing. I want such a model for my next build, cheers…Kenny
M1A1 AIM is upgraded version of M1A1 Abrams tank that was used during recent war in Iraq. Sherman’s designation is M4, M4A1 and so on.
I think Dragon’s version is more accurate than Tamiya. The biggest difference is the non-slip texture. The tamiya one just seems so plain.
I have quite a few M1A1 series from Tamiya, Academy and Dragon. I recently built Tamiya M1A1. It was very easy to build and good fitting. I have not done academy or dragon kit yet, but loooking forward to it as well. For anti slip coating, I am actually thinking about using sand paper, cut it to the shape of area and glue it on. What do you think?
Don’t use sand paper for the nonslip paint. Heavy Arty started using Rustolium’s terracotta textured paint and it works perfectly. I have used it on an M60a1 and I would reccommend it over anything I have tried before. It provides a scaled nonslip surface for about $4.00. Greg
