Here is my M1A1 Abrams by Dragon. A great kit to put together, and the details are absolutely amazing. I painted it with MM Acrylics FS33531 and weathered it with various stuff… I made the blankets with kleenex and watered down PVA glue… A great kit, can’t wait to start my other one!

The supsension is all out of whack for positioning onto a scenic base, which hasn’t been started. These are the best pics I could get with the crap lighting I have in my place… thank god I’m moving next week! comments and the like are welcome!
Looking good. A few pointers. I would add an ammo can fro teh TC’s .50 cal though. Also, it looks like the .50 cal ammo cans in front of the sponson boxes are sand colored. They would most likely be dark green like the other ammo cans. The race for the loader’s M240 should be bare metal too. It isn’t painted. Looks like you have the left blast panel reversed as well. I have never seen them reversed, guess it may be possible though.
Can’t wait to see it on the base. Keep up the good work.
Looking fine, congrats on a nice build.
Regards,
Terry.
Awesome!.. I like the weathering. I’ve just received mine… lotta pieces… any advice about it?.. Thanks for sharing.
the only advice I can offer is to becareful with the tracks… there is something with the suspension that didn’t sit right with me! The idler make up is really finicky so becareful… good luck with it!
Arty, thanks for the suggestions, they have been duly noted and all with be added to later. I didn’t think about the racer, or the ammo boxes, but thanks for pointing it out to me so I can add more colour to it!
Oh. Just looking at the first photo it is beautiful work. What did you use for the tie-down straps on the turret? Did you have to add any welds? Was the cable in the storage rack provided with the kit or did you fabricate it? Nice work on the baggage and boxes. After weathering did you do an overall clear coat?
thanks for the comments, the straps were cut from the left over paper that the MRE’s came on, the cable was provided with the kit, but I used the plastic ones as they were just as good in detail IMHO. There is no need to add an detail to this model as it is pretty dead on! I don’t dullcoat my models, but I do add it over the decals to allow the pigments to sit on the decals without showing any silvering… that’s about it
Thank you. It’s a very nice piece of work.
Looks great! I like the weathering on the side, and the dusty look. I also like the faded effect on the turret!
Well, that’s another fine addition to your growing collection, James. Thanks for sharing.
thanks for the comments guys, it’s still waiting a base, but, I’ll get update pics as soon as I can find my camera… we moved last week so I’ve been busy!
Nice and dirty. Love the storage.
