Looks good…I like the “hole” in the side. What is on the back that look like cylinders and are green???

Rounds Complete!!

Spent shell-casings?

Pretty cool work. I like the whitewash, it looks like pics I’ve seen of US vehicles.

I don’t believe that the hatches and periscope would have been white, probably olive-drab and black. As for the shell that hit the front fender, it undoubtedly would have penetrated and taken out the stowage and possibly penetrated the hull.

Nice job.

Ditto! Looks awesome.[proplr]

Although I agree with the comments about the shell hits and hatches, I have to say that it’s a pretty nice M10–for some reason you don’t see a lot of guys build these, apparently? Nice job!

thanks for the positive comments!

The cylinders are the tubes the shells are in on the ready racks. I presume they are discarded as the shells are taken out for firing? I decided you wouldn’t keep them in the vehicle! So the idea is they show that the TD was in heavy action prior to being knocked out. I have some shell casings to go on the ground when the dio base gets made., again atttempting to show previous action.

BTW… When the 50 cal is fired does the ammo feed box lid stay closed?

No, the lid has to be open for the ammo to feed. When the lid is closed it is water tight and nothing goes thru it. Those ammo cannisters are usually black in color and are made from treated cardboard with metal end caps

That is why I asked about the cylinders. As stick said they are flat black tube and the top caps are a semi gloss black as the are painted metal. Shell casings would be a brass color.

Rounds Complete!!

Thanks for the info will break out the black paint for the ammo tubes then onto detail the 50 cal with an open ammo box. My shel cases are painted brass colour and will be scattered around.
