Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get a kit of a M-47 Patton kit in 1:72 or 76? Who makes this kit in injected plastic? Resin? Can anyone help?
Cheers

I am not aware of an M47 in 1/72 or 1/76. I know an M26 Pershing is supposed to be on the way by Pegasus and also boxed by Trumpeter. That would give you about a 45% solution with only a turret to scratch and some updating to the hull.
I know Roco did an M47 but that is in 1/87 (HO) scale.
I am assuming the body of the M 26 is the same as the M 47? Do you know if anyone made a Turret to go with a Pershing kit? Damn someone should…its just one more easy babystep!

I know you’re looking for 1/76 or 1/72, but Kaiyodo makes a nice little M47 in 1/144, displayed here with my old Italeri Battle of the Bulge “King Tiger” M47 build.
Here are a couple of pix:
The little 1/144 Kaiyodo M47 comes as you see it (I converted the 1/35 Italeri kit to “King Tiger” specs). The Kaiyodo M47 was a “secret item” in their recent Battle of the Bulge (the real one, not the movie) series of 1/144 tanks.
Nice!
Are there any asian companies that might make it in 1:72/76??
Anyoine know of a resin M47 out there in 1:72?
Hi,
Found a M47 mentioned on the following link made by RH Models. Can’t find much about them though

Just picked up that little 1/144th M47 “BoB” version in a Takara “World Tank Museum” “trading card” mystery boxing. It is one well done little tank, the pics do not do it justice! The chewing gum sucks…
The little Takara WTM tanks have MANY vehicles unavailable in the Dragon Can.Do line up. Also picked up their “Ersatz M10” Panther G from their "BoB’ set, another fantastic little tank. I’m getting to like the little 1/144th tanks!

Has anyone has any experience with RH Model Resins in the past?

I like Major Rob’s idea but you have to wait for Trumpeter for that one. What kind of mods would be needed to turn the 1/72 italeri M48 into an M47? Is it even possible? BTW: Milan what is the reason for your M47 quest, just curious?
It seems RH models also makes a 1/72 M41 Bulldog and that is one that I’m looking for myself. Never tried any RH models myself though/

Ah, my reason for wanting to find a M-47? Well, besides it being one of maybe 5 tanks produced by the US after the second world war and thus is surprisingly absent from 1:72 scale, it is a nice looking piece of equipment, failry well known and as for many kits, it would be nice to have one in 1:72…just pure interest i guess. My other theory for wanting one is that i discovered a plastic tank i had as a little kid and just recently realised it was a copy of a M47 patton…why might you be looking for an M 47 and M 41??

I just like the look of the M41 Walker Bulldog for one. Second I like modeling anything from Vietnam. Even though the M41’s and M47 were not used by US in Vietnam, they were given to the South Vietnamese (ARVN) forces who used them effectively against the T54’s. So that makes them a good modeling subject, hard to find refrences but good subject still.

Entirely different tank hulls and turrets. The M47 was an interim design and did not see much US use. It was widely used by NATO allies to re-equip their forces after WW2 though.

Good Day,
Do you know which Allies used the M-47? I am uncertain if the Canadians used it before the Leopard 1s, but it is an interesting subject none the less!

I do not see Canadians mentioned here, but I do not personally know:
[:O]
Yeah, no Canadians there, but they do give the impression that the M47 was more or less a piece of crap…still want to model it however!

The link Richard provides gives the only info on building the M-47 and M-41 by RH Models I have seen. These come from Liberation Miniatures who have a large line of figures. The tanks are very basic (7 parts) and are in 1/76 scale. They look a little rough but the only thing on the market so far.
You can check out Liberations site here.

Excellent…has anyone had experience with RH Models before?
I have found this link to a newer Liberation Miniature website
http://www.webspawner.com/users/libmins/
and there are some pics of made up vehicles here
I have just found this site on small scale Vietnam modelling wargaming.
although it appears that no new members are being allowed at the moment due to ill health of the membership person.
