Hi, I’m new to the armor forum since my major interest is scale WW II ships but I do have some armor kits to build. However my question is not really a “model” question but a request for some help that many of you may be able to help with. I live near Berwick PA. A local foundry produced both the M-3 “Stuart” and the M-42 “Duster”. Some of the community leaders would like to bring examples of these two tanks “home” to Berwick as historical displays. I would suggest you contact the US Army Armor Museum at Ft Knox or US Army Ordnance Museum at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD. These vehicles are not actually owned by individuals, but leased to them from the US Government. To obtain one, you must go through proper channels. The museums should be able to point you in the right direction. For something like this, it shouldn’t be too hard (esp. on the M42 Duster) as long as vehicles are available. Good luck on your search.
Thanks for the info. We will contact the places you suggested. We are in the process of getting approval at this time. It is a time consuming process but we consider it worth the effort involved as many of our seniors and their families remember these tanks going through town on railroad flat cars on there way to the ports for shipment to the front.
