Luftwaffe ground service vehicles

Hello- I’m in a gray area here, I think (do I post in Aircraft or Armor?)[:)]
Anyway, what maintenence vehicles were used by Luftwaffe ground crew?
I’m building a late war Eastern front Stuka, and want to park an appropriate maintenence vehicle next to her.
Names of appropriate maintenence vehicles are appreciated.
Names of model companies that make 'em in 1:72 scale is REALLY appreciated!! Thanks, folks- Craig

Man!

That’s kind of a tough one! I don’t think I’ll be able to answer your question, rather, I would like an expert to answer it for both. Haha! [:I]

I’m no specialist in ground equipment, however there’s an old Academy kit that comes with a Jeep, a Kubelwagen and one of those half track-Motorcycles, Luftwaffe ground support personnel used to tow aircraft (forgive me, I don’t remember the name of that vehicle) [#oops] But that kit is really cute, brings out life in any diorama, and not too hard to find. And in 1/72 scale! There’s another simmilar 1/48 kit as well I believe. Luftwaffe experts, we need your help!

Alright! I got a bite- and a helpful one at that. Thanks, I’ll check into that Academy kit- Craig

This sort of relates to this I guess,
Quick and easy 1/48 scale 55 gallon fuel drums:

stack several pennies to the proper size.
tape them together with masking tape.
put a couple of layers on.

wrap 2 wires from stripped down twist ties, around the top and the bottom about 1/3 of the way from each end.
wrap the whole thing in foil.
shape it how you desire, lips on the lids ect.
press a couple of dings in the foil/tape covering then paint to your desired color.
you can even scratch the paint in areas and let the silver foil show thru.

Craig,

You may want to try www.tracks-n-troops.com. They have an extensive selection of 1/72 vehicles. Unfortunately everything in this genre is a little pricey, but they do have fuel trucks, starter and oil carts etc. Fine Scale Factory is one you want to check out in particular.

HTH,

Mike

Look for an Opel Blitz truck. Italeri should have the old ESCI kit rereleased shortly (if not already). Matador Models makes a bunch of nice kits that will work including some fuel tankers.
