Lost Part A-6A Intruder -Old Testors Kit Need Help

I purchased an old A-6A Intruder kit by Testors, kit #333 dated 1984 off E-Bay advertised in mint condition, which it was. The plastic cover containing the parts had never been opened. I’m well satisfied with the seller as I know he had no way of knowing the part was missing. I E-Mailed Testors and as I expected they no longer manufacture this kit or had any parts. My only hope is someone has a kit for sale, knows where I can purchase another kit or part, or knows where I can get the part scratch-built. I will also go back to E-Bay and advertise for the kit. If there’s someone anywhere who can help please contact me ASAP. The part missing is part # 20 the right exhaust fairing. This kit all for this one missing part is as said in mint condition. I would love to complete this aircraft as I was stationed aboard the U.S.S. Constellation in 1967-68 with two squadrons of the A-6A attached. Sure hope someone can help. Wahooman

Does that kit say Fujimi anywhere on the box? I think it may, or may be the same plastic as the Fujimi 1/72 A-6A kit.

Can you give a better description of the part you are looking for? I have this kit in 1/48 scale.

Yes, it has on the box Fujimi Mokei Co. LTD then Testors #333 dated 1984. This is a old kit, but in top condition except for the missing part # 20 Right Exhaust Fairing. It is a 1/48 scale. I greatly appreciate your help and concern. It’s a shame to have such a nice kit, but unable to complete. If there’s anything you can do PLEASE let me know. Wahooman

That’s the Fujimi 1/48 scale kit, not one of the newer Fujimi 1/72 scale kits, which Testors also released.

I will try to make it clearer if possible. I’ll start again with whats on the box. It has A-6A Intruder 1/48 scale #333. Then it has Fujimi Mokei Co. LTD-Testors dated 1984, with the Testors address, parts made in Japan with picture of the plane with Marines VMA-aw-533 markings. Now to the parts sheet which is fairly simple. In section # 2 airframe assembly it states as follows, (Cement left and right exhaust fairings # 19 and # 20 into depressions on either side of fuselage as shown.) Then it continues with the rest of the assembly in this step. This is about as clear as I know to make it, I hope this helps you in understanding which part it is, # 20 right exhaust fairing. You stated you had this kit, would you be interested in selling your kit if it’s not assembled after verifing for sure this is the same kit? If you feel it would help in in this matter feel free to give me a call at (276-637-4520). It’s a shame to have such a top notch kit all for one part. I would love to complete this model as I had said before that I was stationed aboard the U.S.S. Constellation CV-64 in 1967-68. Please reply. Wahooman

Did you get the reply I sent to you? I think I may have pushed post instead of reply. If so you can get the reply I sent to you off the fourm. I’m as you can see not very good at this kind of stuff. I apologize for any inconvenience I may have been. Wahooman
