Very nice work, although by the looks of the gargoiles, they could easily be Lost In Transylvania [:D]
Hey thanks guys,my intention by posting all of these vigs is to give you some ideas and is especialy aimed at the newcommers to the hobby and to the returnees who for one reason or another, like kids, are returning to the hobby after a break. I am 52yrs of age and have been building military models for 30yrs so if I can give something back to the hobby then that`s why I joined all of you here at FSM. Thanks again and enjoy.
Russ
From one old timer to another, I always enjoy seeing your work displayed here Russ. Semper Fi, mike

sasd… looks great! awesome weathering job. thanks for the pics!
Thanks to all of you,I hope the ideas are flowing!!
Russ, from another old timer, just outstanding. I have’nt done a dio in years, but you are making me want to reconsider the idea. The pics with the dirty windshield showing is a very good touch. I too do not show a clean windshield on my builds, as wiper blades and vaccum motors back in the '40s were rather poor…and did not clean worth a darn. Geez, I’m rambling. Good work again Russ, keep them coming!![tup][tup][tup]
Thats the ticket Mike, get in the fight and punch out a few!! Back in the 70s I used to do nothing but elaborate huge dioramas, then kids started coming so took some time away from the hobby. When I found myself back into it again I said to myself ,"take it easy, theres alot more kits out there now". So I decided to do vignette size dios and put as much into each one as I felt was needed. It has worked for me so now I stick with this size plus too there aint a whole lot of room to store them in a one bedroomer.
Many thanks to everyone who has taken the time to have a look at my stuff over the past month and I will continue to present you with more ideas as I post more vigs.
Happy New Year everyone and thankyou!
Russ

Great build…But something you said really scares me. “The kids Started coming”…NOOOOOOOOO I have my first due in March. A little girl. Please tell me this will not be the end of modeling…NNNOOOOOOOOO. By the way did I mention how much I like the build. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO[:)]
Oh yes Skar, if you already have a nursery seperate from your modelroom then your ok,
in my case modelroom became baby`s room, models books and everything else were sold to get crib, change table, clothes etc. All built models and dioramas got pitched into the dumpster, end of story, back in the 80s.
Gettin back to the dio here, the snow was made from plain white sand ballast from a craft store. Sprinkle on with a small spoon, hit with white glue/water mix and after dry ,paint whiter. The mud splashes was made by takin an old toothbrush dunkin it into a mud mix and flickin the bristles aimed at the snow alongside the road and the halft.
