Looking to buy some seafoam

I’ve seen and heard plenty on this “seafoam” material for making trees. The problem is, I’ve only found one or two websites that sell it, and they all try and sell you a giant box of the stuff, for planting giant railroad layouts, not to mention that that’s just the base, you still need to buy additional foliage and such. I only need a few sprigs/stems of it for making a couple trees, and testing it out before I buy a bunch. If anyone has some extra, I would be willing to pay plenty for it. I’d also be interested if anyone know of websites that sell just a little bit of the stuff, so I don’t have to spend tons. I’m going to check my local railroad shop, but I don’t have high hopes, they usually don’t have a ton of stuff. Thanks, Ian

It makes wonderful trees but is not allowed to be imported into Australia.

I hope you have luck sourcing the product.

Cheers

Mike

Not allowed? Hmm…I’m guessing it’s considered an invasive species? We’ve got Zebra Mussels and Purple Loosestrife to watch out for around here.

Probably.

Australia has pretty tough import regulations.

If you do manage to get some what you can use for foliage is parsley and dried herbs from the spice rack.Spray the trees brown, when dry spray adhesive and sprinkle herbs and when dry spray leaves a suitible green,See my pillbox dio. Just a suggestion, Cheers,Andy.

Hey Ian. Have you tried the British company, Antenocitis? About 20 trees for $25.50, plus shipping. If you don’t like it, you could always eBay 'em off your hands. Nice folks, at that place.

Steve

Thanks Steve and Bodge! I’ve actually taken a shot at making wire trees using the tutorial on armorama, and had some promising results. Only problem so far is that some of the natural items I could have used for tiny twigs such as plant roots, are under a few feet of snow right now. I’ll post my results in a few days.
