Looking for....

a good BF110 in 1/48 scale. After building my first a/c since I was a kid, I realise that I like the bombers. Also looking for a nice Stuka in 1/48. Was at the LHS today and didn’t see either (which is odd for my LHS, they most everything and then some). I would imagine there are kits out there, especially the Stuka. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Chris

I have built the Monogram Pro-Modeler Stuka, and although it’s an older kit, It went together very well. Excellent fit and detail. Highly recommend it. Hasegawa a;so makes a very nice Ju87. Can’t help with the BF110. Must get one myself.

The ProModeler Stuka is a rebox of the Hasagawa kit. They are the best on the market in this scale IMHO. As for a 110, the ProModeler G version is also very good. If you want an earlier version, Fujimi makes a C/D version which can be built pretty good (see build ups of both these kits in the new Battle of Britian magazine from (you guessed it) FSM.

Yep, Fujimi makes the only 1/48th Me-110 in any version. All others are in 1/72nd.

I’ve also seen revell 1/48 me 110… !

Nope, Revellogram/ProModeler makes a 48th 110…

As was already mentioned…

And if you wanna get technical, Mauve marketed a 48th 110 kit… albeit based on the Fujimi kit and ludicrously expensive…

Fade to Black…

Thanks guys, that gives me a place to start next time at the LHS, which is having a sale.

Thanks,
Chris

I’ve built the Monogram ProModeller 1/48 Ju87 and am about 1/.2 done with the Fujimi 1/48 Bf110 and both go to gether nice!!! very little sanding, almost no filling. The interior on the Bg 110 is a little sparse for me but once that huge canopy with all the wood in it is on top you can’t see it anyway…

I would also recommend the Monogram ProModeler Ju88 in 1/48, it is a really nice kit as well!

P.S. don’t be put off by the whale belly fuel tank on the Fujimi 110 box art. It looks strange but you don’t have to build the kit with it, it is a separate piece! You’ll know what I am talking about when you see the kit haha. It took me a year of looking at it in disgust, and someone finally telling me the tank was separate before I finally bought it.

here’s a link to the kit if you want to see what I mean by the whale belly thing…

Chris, let me know how your search for a R/M turns out. If you can’t find one at a reasonable price I managed to get ahold of a spare. - Calvin

Thanks, I’ll keep that in mind.

Chris

I have built the pro-modeller 1/48 BF110 and it is a good kit FSM did a workbench review I think in an issue of 1997 (but its easy to look up) and the review is spot on I definitely would reccomend it !
Hope this helps[:D]
