looking for birch seeds

Hi everyone.

I have seen quite a bit about using birch seeds in your groundwork to simulate oak leaves. They look quite good and I would love to get someon my own. However, here in South Louisiana we seem to have no birch trees that I can locate. Tons of white oak and pine, but no birch that I have seen.

Any commercial sources for these things?

thanks

Hudson & Allen sell them packaged as “leaves” you should be able to locate them through your local hobby shop.

Or check with a local dry flower supplier such as Michael’s Craft stores, sometimes they stock Birch Catkins (The real name of these seeds)

Failing that I am going on the hunt around my area for them. If I turn up enough I can always throw some in the mail to you. Let me see how the collecting goes and I will get back to you.

Cheers;

Gregory

Ausfwerks FTW!
They sell’em by the bag Grunddeckung.

Get a bunch at Ausfwerks while you’re paying for shipping- this stuff is great, but the bags are small. Also, if Hudson & Allen products are stocked in your LHS, great. But my H&A order with Model Mecca (VLS) has been backordered all summer long. Managed to get Ivy, everything else is is WAY held. SteveM

Yeah… get the Ausfwerks stuff… I have some and it looks great. I’ve spoken to someone who knows the fella that runs Hudson & Allen and so i’m told they’re very spotty about getting stuff made as it’s a sideline business…

I concur. The best source by far.
