Looking for a Revell part

I know I’m probably searching for a unicorn.

I have a Revell BRE 510 Datsun that I’m nearing completion.

Regrettably I bought this kit on eBay opened

and of course, the one part that I need to complete the model is missing

Part number 72 and I was wondering if anybody would like to trade or swap if they have this part so I can finish this model?

Thank you for looking.

Respectfully
Marc

If the kit’s still in production by Revell, you can ask the brand for a spare part.

I did. They said not available.

I have never done this, but you could try making your own part with plasticard? Doesn’t look like a very difficult shape to recreate.

[Sturmovik…. that’s something that I thought about but decided not to attempt because there is a lot to the front bumper and it just wouldn’t look right by me

I was going to say look for the 510 tuner kit - basically the same model, but that one is expensive as well… I have the 510 BRE but not sure how to replicate - let me think on it.
In the mean time maybe look for a glue bomb on ebay.

Hi keavdog,
Been on eBay for over a week. Yes the kits that are on Ebay are out of my range and no glue bombs yet.
I will keep looking and hoping. In the meantime, I’ve got other builds going on.

I’m not necessarily a car modeler, but though it is a little complex, I think you might be able to do it if you break it down into general shapes!

There’s the main backing shape, and if I’m seeing it right, you could layer a thicker pla-plate for the front lower part. The edges seemed slightly curved, so try using like a clamp to grab a hold of it and just ever so slightly bend that. For the inner details, it’s just a matter of drilling and cutting to get the same believable shape. For the finer curves and such, you might be able to get push a thin bead of putty into place to replicate it, but honestly, just building the basic structure will probably look ok. Hopefully that makes sense or is helpful. The good thing is that you could always redo it if it goes in the wrong direction.

Looking at the part in my kit it is concave and has an arc. Might be tough to reproduce. I can take pics/measurements if you like.
