…published by kalmbach/finescale a few years ago and I can’t remember the title. It was a compilation of startrek articles from finescale modeler (TOS shuttle, enterprise-e lighting etc.). a very cool book! if anyone knows the one I’m talking about, let me know! I’d love to get my hands on a copy.
thanks…

There are two of them, I think you are combining the two. The older one is Famous Spaceships of Fact and Fantasy. It icludes various sci-fi and real space kits and has the build article on accurizing the inside and outside of a TOS shuttlecraft and lighting a TNG Enterprise-D.
The other is newer and called Spaceships at the Final Frontier and is specifically about Star Trek models. It has a build article on the Enterprise-E (no lighting though), and lighting an Enterprise-C as well as various other Trek ships.
There is a third one called A Galaxy Far Away and is geared towards Star Wars kits.
The two newer ones are available at local hobby shops.
Edit: I’ve got all three and recommend them to the sci-fi builder. I’ve also got a couple of VHS tapes, one is called How to Build Science Fiction Models by Video Workbench.
Rob , I think you’ve got it right. Those two books have most of the material thatpablo6276 was describing.
Speaking of the “Famous Spaceships” book…
The cover painting used on the first edition of the book hangs in our staff meeting room here at FSM. Kinda cool, huh?

Matt is that picture for sale?[;)][:D][:p][}:)]
I didn’t think so. Oh well, had to ask.
I wish it was! I should figure out a way to “display” it here in my office!
It’s a really nice piece of work, and much bigger than you’d expect – about 2’ x 3’.

Two of the books are available online through Kalmbach.

I checked the inventory list we receive daily for items in the catalog. It usually includes a bunch of older products which aren’t in the store. I didn’t see it in the list so I’m sure it’s completely out of stock - nowhere to be found in the distribution area. You’ll most likely have to look for either on eBay, possibly a library, buy/trade with someone who has one or try a used books bookstore.
