Look at THIS coolness! T. rex attacks Triceratops

Paleocraft is a garage kit company famous for making sculpts of prehistoric mammals instead of dinosaurs, but the proprietor, Sean Cooper, has recently gotten into dinosaurs in a BIG way! He’s just about finished with a sculpt of T. rex preying on Triceratops as a baby gets away. It looks like T. rex, like most predators, was going after the baby, but the adult put itself in the way, and the T. rex is getting ambitious, going for the killing neck-bite on the adult. Maybe the T. rex has babies of its own to feed. Just feast your eyes on this (click on the pics to see them full-size):

It’s probably going to be fairly pricey, because you get a LOT in the box, but it will be an awesome centerpiece for a modeler’s figure collection. Or, if you want, Sean also makes a T. rex in a stand-alone sculpt.

I imagine the model will probably be available in the near future – Sean says he’s putting the finishing touches on it. Good stuff.

Wow, that is cool!
Thanks for posting that, Larry.

Interesting, I did a Tamiya T-Rex a long time ago, it turned out awesome but has since been lost in multiple moves along with almost all of my other models from back then, I have several dinosaur models in my stash but am not currently inclined to building them.

Those Tamiya 90’s era kits are fun. (The 70s kits are strictly “great fossil lizard” stuff.) I am not sure where they got the shape of the T. rex’s head from though! And they are in 1/35th scale, so you can have the dinosaurs attacking some infantry or the Tamiya samurai figures …

I have the Brachiosaurus, but never got around to building it – I really should.

Crikey!

Pretty impressive. I will have to show my SO this diorama as she loves dinosaur kits!

cheers

Mike

Dan

thats really cool. poor little dino.

Wow thats pretty nice , thanks for posting that Larry .

How much is just the rex ?

I take it this is a full resin kit at that price .

that looks interesting!!

I think the red alone (in a different pose from this one) is arounf $100.

I don’t know what the full price for this kit will be, but when it’s done it will include everything you see – three dinosaurs and a base.
