I have been building for over 50 years. I’m always looking for new ideas, and inspiration. While I build mostly cars, I believe that building different subjects only makes us better modelers.
Welcome to the forums. Lots of information, help and inspiration to be found here. Hope to see some of your work here.
Welcome to FSM,lotsa good info to be had.
Welcome aboard Straightliner 59.

Welcome to the forums Straightliner59! You’ve come to the right place for new ideas and inspiration. Can’t wait to see your builds!
Welcome to the FSM forum Strightliner59! I agree with you about modeling different genres making us better modelers. Good Luck with your future builds.
@Straightliner59 Welcome to the FSM forum. Yes, there are different subject WIPs to see here.
Big FSM welcome to you. Cars is how I started, though it’s been close to 50 years since that Don “The Snake” Prudhomme funny car or the Red Lambo Countach where completed (I wish I still had them).
Beside cars, what subject matter interests you?
Thanks to all for the warm welcome! Samphoto, I have dabbled in just about everything, from figures, to a submarine, to a 1/600 scale Corsair. I have built a few pieces of Hasegawa 1/72 scale armor. I have a Sherman, and a Humber, unfortunately, no decent photos of either. I have a Revell 1/32 Typhoon I want to build, at some point. I also have several 1/144 scale aircraft. That’s my favorite scale.
If I can remember how to post images hosted elsewhere, here’s some of my work!
This dragster is scratchbuilt. The chassis is brass, the body panels are made from aluminum flashing. The nose and tail sections are hammered and soldered tin. The only kit pieces are the tires. Everything else is scratchbuilt parts, and parts I made from my own molds.
Wow
Outstanding attention to detail ![]()
Welcome to the forums. The dragster is very cool. Being a scratch build makes it even way cooler
. Hope to see more of your work here.
Welcome! That dragster is amazing!
Thanks, everyone! I appreciate your comments! I really enjoy scratchbuilding and detailing, which are often the same thing.

Regarding your scratch built dragster… You are playing a game with which I am not familiar.
So impressive.
