Loctite Super Glue

I’m curious about Loctite super glues. Has anyone used them before, and what did they think? This glue is by far the easiest to get where I live.

I like them. I guess mostly because of their packaging, those little squeeze bottles work well. I like Zap CA better but Loctite is good. I’ve used the regular, extended cure and gel. The Gel is really handy at times and easy to dispense. They seem to work ok with accelerator. Not quite as volatile as the really cheap stuff in little black tubes.

It may not be Loctite brand; but I recently found a Krazy Glue bottle that comes with a little brush in the cap. It works fantastically! Great control!

I stumbled on the Loctite super glue about a year and a half ago and love it. I’ve used the gel for the most part. The built in applicator tip is great. It will give you as little or as much as you want. It stays clean and is so impressive, because the glue does not seem to dry up. I’ve been more than happy with the length of time that each bottle has lasted. There also is a gel bottle with a brush applicator. It too has served me well. I don’t think you can go wrong with the loctite brand, especially with its availability. Good luck. Rick.

I love locktite I’v used them all I bought some Krazy Glue just to try haven’t yet. aceses5[snWcm]

Ditto with the above, I use loctite exclusively. I love the squeeze bottles. I get the ultimate in control.

In general I love loctite stuff. They make a red pneumatic threadlocker (think it’s 595…hard to get though) that basically does what teflon tape does, but much, much better.

Last week I picked up a tube of their outdoor adhesive, mainly for the 60 minute cure. Wanted something between CA and white glue. The hold is great, but the adhesive is a really thick gel that likes to string out like bad nacho cheese, so you have to be super careful applying it. May need to go back to Lowe’s and see about finding something similar but with thinner viscosity.

I use the Loctite Gel stuff. It is great. For the runny stuff I use cheaper stuff 'cause I have less trouble with it. I have tried other brands of the gel stuff (I use more gel than the regular because of the longer working time), and find other brands get harder to get out of tubes than the Loctite. I get more glue per bottle, and it works great. Just the right consistancy and setting time.

I like the Loctite gel. I remove the tube from the funky dispenser and use it like a normal tube. Works great in places where I need lots of strength where nobody can see it. I use Jet in various forms for other places.

I have heard good things about Gorilla brand, they claim it will dry clear with no white oxidization?

Regardless of brand its a good idea to store CA glue in a jar of some sort. The smaller the better[2cnts]

I use the Gorilla brand super glue I like the strenght it gives especially for holding PE parts and has a decent working time, a little thicker than most and it does dry clear and will work with accelerators as well.

jason18.

I can tell you one thing for free you all out there are getting ripped of by using them why!.

I’ll tell you why, i expect you have seen the one’s that you squeeze from the sides they are the grey with blue sides one’s huh! i had one that seemed to not flow when i squeezed the sides so i took it apart and guess what it’s all a con because it is just those tubes you buy that after about two squeezes are empty,so forget it do not buy them for me never again i’m (sticking ) pun intended with the bottle type at least you see what your using and i can get them cheaper on e-bay.

So jason18 forget it buy a bottle say 20 grams or bigger whatever your needs be it will work out cheaper and last longer.

SNAKE.

Sorry for your luck SNAKE. The brand of Loctite I’ve been using seems to last for a long time. But I use it for small bits, like antennas, PE, and small attachment points. I don’t use it on anything very big. The precise dispensing and the applicator design seems to keep the Ca from drying out. My experience shows that the glue is being used up to the point that there is nothing left to squeeze out. And a tube of the gel is lasting 3,4,5 months. I feel that I’m getting what I pay for. Rick

Locktite gel is the main CA I use. I see they have a new super gel for a buck a tube more. Had to try it the other day because my hardware store was out of the regular gel, and I needed it ASAP. I could not tell the difference. I was hoping it was not a ploy to just raise the price on the regular stuff, but the store finally did get more of the regular stuff.
