Lindberg Owens 22' Cruiser

I’m taking short breaks, from burnout on the Langley, and needed something easy to work on. I saw a Lindberg/Round Two at my local HL.

I have the hull complete. The molding is terrible- this is not for a newby, but I’ve been building models for seventy years, and built Linberg kits in my youth, so I figured I could handle it. In addition to the hull, I painted the aft floor and glued the cabin bulkhead to it. I will be putting on a decal to the outside, and only touching up areas after the decal is on.

While I occasionally paint wood effects, like airplane props, I wanted better results for Mahogany for this cruiser, so I downloaded some mahogany textures , and already had some oak, I made a decal sheet of mahogany areas and a little bit of oak for the interior.

I have the inside of the bulkhead with the oak decal on it now.

The bulkhead and floor piece is not glued in yet. I snapped it in place just for the picture.

I intend to make some interior parts- a bed, a sink and some seats.

Hi,

This looks cool. I’ll definitely be following this one.

Those decals look like they will really spruce up the interior.

Stay Safe.

That boxart is very evocative…my uncle had one of those, back in the day.[:D] Didn’t realize Round2 had re-released it.

Great project! Love your wood-tone decals.[Y]

Given that the originals often used screen-printed vinyl for their “wood grain”–the decals might be “too realistic” [:D]

This will be fun to watch.
