Light color?

I am currently building the Tamiya 1/48 F4U-1A Corsair. Ihave one question: there is a light on the left wing. Is it tinted and is so, what color?

I just bought that same kit today!How is it?What color did you use for the fuselage?

without an F4U to reference (dog knocked it off the shelf with his nose) I’d venture to guess that is a landing light (which would be clear) if it is on the underside of the wing, or on the leading edge. The only ones on the wings that would be tinted, would be the navigation lights on the tips of the wings. Green for starboard, red for port.

You can paint the plastic under the landing light where it will be glued, silver or chrome to brighten it up…

Thanks. I thought it was a navigation light, but it was odd because there was no starboard wing light.

The light on the bottom of the left wing is a landing light & shuold be tinted bright silver covered by clear. The light on the upper surface is a navigation light & should be tinted red.

There is a formation light on top of each outer wing panel. It is tinted blue. ref. detail & scale Vol. 55 pg.42.
