i am staring at this box with a beautiful corsair painted on it. and a question comes to mind. would any of my fellow members be interested in a “black sheep squadron” group build. this would be all a/c from the famed black sheep squadron. any kit, any pilot, any scale.
anyway i just thought i would throw it out there.

My old buddy Yeehah ,(the artist formerly known as), just finished one of Pappy’s PR mounts.
After much research, it transpires that he never had his own aircraft, they were all pooled and if it wasn’t u/s , it flew,

I do have several corsair kits that would be appropriate! But I don’t know if I could swing another GB unless I kept it to a simple out-of-the box build for some time after the new year. I’ve got the flying boat GB starting in Feb.
oggy that is what i understand also. but this would be for any plane of that group. aurora whether you do it oob or super detail would be entirely up to you. i havent begun to think of a start date. just want to see if there would be interest.

I’m interested but honestly can not join in another GB until at least spring next year… I’m in 14 of them already!
Interesting idea, I just ordered a decal set for a Harrier from VMA 214 “Black Sheep” that I am going to use on an F-35B to represent a hypothetical Blacksheep 2010.

Joe, I had the same thought about a Corsair GB, A P-47D Thunderbolt GB, a P-38 Lightning GB, and so on. But, there are a lot of GB’s going right now & I have committed to 2 already starting in January. If you want to push the start date out to May, I would join in. Otherwise, I’ll cheer from the sidelines.

i am glad to see such interest. i do not have a date in mind yet but if the interest grows i can see this sometime next spring early summer. dont want to bog everyone down with another gb.

I’d love too, if it’s not starting for a while. I’m building a corsair right now so I’ll be all corsaired out for a few weeks (you can never get too tired of these birds though). I’d like to build Pappy Boyingtons’ Hog, I have the decals for it sitting around. Looks like another Tamiya kit is on the shopping list, it’ll be my third one.

this is sounding like a good idea then. i wont set a date right now but i will keep this thread going so others will have an opportunity to view it. i will only put one rule up for now. the bird has to be from the famed blacksheep squadron. it doesnt matter which bird just as long as it was a member of the squadron. i will take suggestions on this build as for specifics but this one thing is not negotiable.

matt i am not sure we are ready for the gb forum yet. with a date beginning in the spring at the earliest we can wait just a bit. got to get more organized.
