LCT - 6 Normandy Model

Hi All,

My dad served on LCT-544 at Omaha Beach, a US LCT (6). I recently did the Lindbergh DDay LCT model with his numbers and found out it is not correct. In fact, the Lindbergh LCT model looks like a post WW2, or a Brit LCT.

Anyone know of an LCT (6) model out there? Or is it kitbashing time?

At that scale, it is kitbashing time.
There may be some smaller 1/700 scales models though.

Otherwise it could also be scratch building time.

Don’t know of an LCT(6) but you can get a kit of a LCT(4) in 35th or 72nd (but they aren’t cheap).

Thanks for the feedback! The large scale models are very impressive, but are quite different from the LCT(6).

Watched a show about the Susan B. Anthony last night on History. My dad’s LCT was one of the vessels that rescued the troops on board after she was mined. He has a great picture he took as they came alongside.

Looks like it’s scratchbuild time!

Here is the little version of the model [;)]

Hi Umi,

That’s the one! My Dad may have a tough time seeing it, he will be 85 in September!

Thanks!
