Finished shoveling outside today and was stuck by a though. Snow=Russian winter=photo idea!
So here’s Gavia/Eduard’s 1/48 Lavochkin La-7 built out-of-the-box.

She looks great, Gamera, and I’m glad the photo op came along… I love the snowy background!
I’ve got that kit in the stash and looks like it builds up real nice. Any problems with it?
Again… job well done on the bird and the photos!
Another nice one.
Excellent work on the model, and the photos make it look real! Well done!
Another nice build. Middle picture is my favorite.
Thanks guys- you’re too kind!
I look at the photos now and dang the pitot tube is really crooked, I guess it got knocked around in the box she was stored in.
Jmabx: this kit went together like butter. I don’t remember using any putty other than the top and bottom of the fusilege seam. I haven’t built many Eduard kits but all the ones I have are around Tamiya/Hasegawa quality. Even the decals were used straight from the box. Pull your kit out and build it next time you need a low-stress kit!
Thanks again!
Very nice Model & Pics. Thanks for sharing.
Regards, Rick
That is an excellent build Gamera. Very nice indeed. I have 2 of these kits (one beiing a wonderful Squadron Shop ooops), one of which I got the PE set for. Now that I have seen your handiwork I’m stoked to move this to the top of my next build pile. Thanks for the inspiring pics & tips. Keep .em coming.
Merry X-mas, Joe
WOW! Great looking plane. I love the winter back drop too! I have always loved the colors of the Soviet A/C in WW2. Just nice to see something different. Might have to add one to my stash![:D]
Great looking build, nice treat of a subject not often seen.
