Latina 1/50 San Fransisco II Cross Section

Anyone have any exp. with this kit, I know some kits have very thin planking like 1 mm so you can’t sand much. I have built the coral victory hull section that w pretty nice.

I looked this one up. Really nice looking model.

Here’s a link to some close ups.

Kinda weird that the breech line is purple.

I wouldn’t think that light sanding to smooth out the wood for a stain or paint would be a problem.

Thanks Annie, I have seen those pictures and it dose look nice, I am just wondering about the quality of the wood, I have seen some really bad wood in some of these kits.

Personally I usually replace the planking wood in kits with basswood strips. Basswood is a beautiful wood to work with. I do not mean beautiful in appearance, but beautiful in its workability. it is tight grained, glues easily, stains or paints well, and bends nicely without being brittle.

Ok I just ordered the kit so we will see how it is

Please keep us informed.
