Here’s My A-10 dio nearly finished and within 4 months too not bad considering I’ve repainted the house EVERY ROOM and not an airbrush in sight, any how all that’s left to be added to this dio is the canopy which as you can see is in 3 parts instead of 2 Tamiya supplied ot in DOH!!!, also a few more “remove before flight” tags.
The last photo was a little bit of fun added to the dio the ground crew member needs to have a rest after reloading the A-10 and as he sat down the barrel has moved.
let me know what you think I know it’s not the best but I’m happy with it also any ideas for a title would be greatly appreciated.

I like the woman whose working under the aircraft, (woof, woof, hubba, hubba !!!) but the people seem a little washed out. Have you thought about letting your wife (if you have one) help you with your figures. Women put on makeup everyday of their lives, don’t you think that they could do it here? With oil paint, they could match every color there is.
Inside of the engine nacelles, you could put a little bit of black (a pin with black ink will work) ink at the back edge of each of the blades.
The rest of the dio is right on. It’s that the figures and the engines were all I noticed.
Just a suggestion.
One other suggestion: Pepsi can BAD, Coke can GOOOOOOOOOD.
navy1996 + popcorn57 In answer to what scale? 1/48 Tamiya A -10 and Hasegawa ground crew set - a (X48-4) wheel chocks included.all built straight out of the box with Eduard “remove before flight” tags.
Vance + Dan, I know they look shiny brought some dull cote today to try and De-shine after all this is only my second attempt at figures, gonna try the engines with an graphic art pen fine tipped of course. also will try and make the figures look more human red cheeks etc.
Very nice work! A name… “Cajuns from Naw-lin’s, they aint saints!” This slogin was painted on the nose of a NO A-10 during OEF. The tail number was 79-0111 and the 111 was painted with windows and a antenna to look like the twin-towers…you can still see a little of this along with the 09-11-01 beside the number on the nose.
Dice, great picture might try to do name plate featuring the above photo if that’s ok with you, if not let me know, that’s the clearest shot I’ve seen.
Hey Dice
nice to see you back, with that pix I’ve seen it with th 111 as the Twin Towers and before the Hawg’s snout, but Jay (the Crew Cheif) had to do the rest of the NO’s fleet in Afghanistan
Thanks Kuda, I drop in once a day or so… as I can. They are keeping me pretty busy with the PE mod (I’m the Project Officer for the A-10C installs here at Hill).
That picture was taken by a friend of my, who is a pro aviation photographer, after the Cajuns came home from OEF. I’m trying to track-down info on the nose art they painted during OEF for my book on A-10 door art.
If you in the mood for some more good A-10 pictures check out another friend of mines work (kevin Jackson) on the Hawgsmoke 2004…
