Latest build completed!

Well, after much ado, here is my latest, Revell 1:48 F-106, straight out of the box. My grandson halped by painting the missiles for me [:D]. I apologize for the lousy photography, my digital ain’t the best!

How was the kit? I was looking into buying one a while back but I heard a few bad thungs about it.

Matt,

The kit went together quite nicely overall. Used almost no putty, gap filling CA took care of the few small seam gaps noted. The 'pit detail is actually quite good for an older kit, and the decals were very good to work with. I can recommend this kit completely!

It came out looking real nice. Your grandson did a job on the missles. I got one of these (monogram) sitting up in the stash. You make me wanna pull it out and start working on it.

great job man it looks beautiful especially for an out-of-the box model. I am almost finished building Revell’s 1/48 F-105F/G Thunderchief, which I believe was produced at the same time as their F-106 kit, and I’m quite impressed with the detail in the cockpit. I had a few fit problems but that may have been my impatience when gluing the fuselage halves together. again good job!

Nice looking Delta Dart, Brian. Your grandson did a great job on the missles.

Mark

Nicely done Brian. Thanks for sharing.

Regards, Rick

Great loooking 106 Brian! You’ve done a good job on that one, certainly makes me want to build one. Darren.

Matt90, wibhi2, DDRManiac, Mark, Rick and Darren,

Thank you all for the kind words! I think my techniques are slowly improving, but i still have a long way to go! This project had special significance, as the F-106 was the first jet a/c I ever saw close up as a child, and my grandson’s help made it all the more special. The support and encouragement of all the Forum members is very much appreciated as well!

Merry Christmas and Happy (modeling) New Year to all! May everyone get all the kits they want!

Dragonfly, wooverstone and Wing_Nut,

Thanks for the kind words! This was a really enjoyable build. Wooverstone, looks like we are neighbors (kinda), I live just outside Vancouver, WA!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!
