Land Camouflage scheme for a USMC UH-1N Huey ?

Hi everyone , I was thinking about painting my Italeri 1/72 UH-1N Huey in that nice Tri-Color scheme from the 1980’s ; to go with my CH-46 ,CH-53E , AH-1W Helicopters in my collection . Iv’e done a search on Goggle Images looking for some pics , but I haven’t found any nice clear images of both sides of the Huey . Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions that may assist me. Kind regards Helo 53

I know exactly what you are talking about. I did a Whiskey Cobra in that scheme a while back. I used Testors Forest Green, Light Grey, and Black, turned out nice. Sorry, don’t have any reference pics though.

I did an N that I converted from the Revell 1/32 H model many years ago. Long before the Panda 1/35 kit was even thought about. I used pics of an N I took at Camp Blanding, FL NG Training Area. Sorry, but the pics are long gone.

Here is the model though.

Hope that helps. Good luck.

Thank’s HeavyArty , The pic’s are exactly what I need ; What an awesome looking Huey -well done .I also have a Hasegawa UH-1H 1/72 in my stash of kit’s to do . I wonder if the Marine Corps ever used the H model for a short while before progressing to the UH-1N . Perhaps I could paint the UH-1H the same tri-color as well . [?]

Wow, I was having the same sort of prolem, same kit and everything. I got into Yahoo (images) and typed “UH-1N” and kept looking until I found some fairly decent shots.

Have you started on your 1N yet.

Hi goondman , I haven’t started my UH-1N as yet . I’m working on a Marine Corps UH-1E , Navy Sea Wolves UH-1C , USAF UH-1F and a Australian Army UH-1D and S-70A [UH-60] Blackhawk Helicopters. All are just about ready for airbrushing ; So I’ll complete these 5 kits and then start on the UH-1N with an AV-8A and TAV-8B Marine Corps Harrier’s . All in 1/72 scale .

Let’s see some pics when you’re finnished.

I would like to share some pic’s on these forum pages ; But I don’t understand the process on how to post images along with message’s and reply’s . I did print out some instructions FSM posted a few months ago , but honestly I couldn’t figure out how to do it . Very frustrating indeed ?[%-)]

Not really that hard. Easiest way is to open a Photo Bucket account ( http://www.photobucket.com ). Once you do, upload the pics from your computer to there. Once uploaded, under the pic will be a code that starts with [img]. Copy the whole address for the img code. Simply paste that into your post and the pic will show.

Good luck.
