Just put up a new article at RetroMechanix.com on L.H. Leonard’s unorthodox “Helicopter-Type Aircraft” VTOL tailsitters submitted to both the US Navy & Army Air Corps in 1939:

It features 26 images, including an artist’s impression, plans, and an engineering analysis. Would make a fun scratchbuild and certainly stand out in any collection!
