Hi ,

I’m about to start Dragon’s early Panther D – any suggestions on an accurate Wehrmact crew circa1943, especially GrossDeutschland would be appreciated.

I’m not an expert but I think you could use Dragons LAH tank crew Russia 1943. They are waffen ss but you could paint them in army camo or black . I’m sure someone that knows more than me will post something.

This is a subject that might need some debate.
My understanding is that there was no such thing as a “Uni-form”.
Having said that all units obviouesly where originally equipt in some way.

I know these pictures are neither the unit, the front or timeframe you look for but still…

No.

I say you get away with pretty much everything, as long as you do not mix it up totaly in terms of timeframe, ie when a particular plag was introduced.

Just my [2c], what do the rest of you think?

You might try using these;

These are in Heer uniforms, the Dragon LAH figures are in SS Camo coveralls. The Heer did not use this style of Panzer coverall. Though I have seen Field Gray coveralls, it is possible that they were privately made, as I don’t have any reference of them being made for Wehrmacht Panzer crews.

Thanks for all replies-- I actually have the LAH set mentioned-- I posted a few months ago & found out that I would need Heer uniforms-- one helpful reply had me altering the uniforms w/ green putty(beyond my capabilities) anyhow, I decided to set the LAH set aside for a future Tiger project & figured there may be something new out there
