Kudos to Micro Mark

Don’t know if this kind of post is allowed, but I had to write about Micro Mark. I live in Canada, and we don’t have anything even remotely approaching Micro Mark’s product line here, so I order from Micro Mark and wait for the snail mail system of two different countries deliver my stuff to my door. And because of the unique items that Micro Mark has, I am happy to wait, pay the taxes my “government” adds on (I am of the opinion that they have no right to do so but who’s going to take them to court?), go to the local post office and pick up my package.

In my last shipment, there was a touch’n flow liquid glue dispenser which is a very delicate little glass tube. When it arrived it was broken inside the packaging. I just shrugged my shoulders and figured it was my loss - it’s only a $6 item. Just as an FYI, I sent Micro Mark an e-mail just as a heads up. I made it clear that I did not consider this to be their fault at all, and that my LHS now carries them so I’ll get one there. No pictures, just a short e-mail. They credited back my credit card for the full value! That impressed me. They didn’t have to, I didn’t even ask them to, they just did it. Service still means something there I guess. Kudos to Micro Mark.

Rich,

Thanks for sharing! ALways good to hear about someones positive experiences with particular companies. Helps to weed out the bad ones. I ordered a micro punch and die set from them a few months back, and the set included two of one size and zero of another. I called them about it, and they simply asked for my account number and the missing size. A couple of days later, a replacement punch of the correct size arrived at my door with a large red RUSH! stamp amblazoned across the top of the invoice. I was quite impressed that not only were they taking care of it, they also added a sense of urgency to it even I never asked them to do that.

Their products aren’t always quite what they’re cracked up to be.

Their shipping charges are faintly outrageous (or were, until all shipping charges became outrageous!)

But you can’t beat their customer service, I don’t care how big a stick you use! This pretty much eliminates my first two considerations. I hope they never change.

I second Richard: great people to do business with!

I love the company, they used to have a store there which was great they are only like 15 min. from my house.I checked they dont take walk ups so I cant go there and pick my stuff up which stinks have to wait for mail to deliver 10 miles straight line lol. Still good products and great customer service imo…

All I’ve bought are some of their tools, all of which have been outstanding, but I drool over the catalog ever time it arrives.

I used to buy a lot of stuff from them because I liked their selection. What I didn’t like was their “sales.” They jack their prices up, then put things on sale. Just compare prices from a previous catalog. I know they aren’t the only company that uses this ploy, but it always leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Of course, this won’t really stop me from buying from them in the future. [:D] I’ll just be more careful.

I live in Australia and I have bought lots of stuff from MicroMark and have been very happy with them, service was great. Yes the shipping was expensive and took quite some time but they have stuff that I just can’t get here.
