hey guys ive got tamiya’s kit and with the 37mm anit tank gun is it possible to have the krupp towing a pak40 or would it be heavy so any help would be great
Aaron
The krupp that comes with the 37mm was a different design than the regular krupp protze. It carried ammor bins all around which were meant to fit the 37mm ammo.So it was kind of a specialized vehicle. Its deffinetly possible though, I have seen just about everything tow a pak 40.
Unlikely combo. The pak 40 was a much heavier gun and required a stronger vehicle to tow it. Usually a 4wd truck or halftrack towed the gun. That version of the Krupp Protze was phased out early in the war when 3.7mm guns werew also superceded.
thanks guys another question is there a conversion kit out the to turn it in to AA gun platform ive seen a drawing of a krupp with a 20mm flak gun mounted on it so would anyone have any idea where to look ive tried greatmodel and it comes up a blank on there website.or would it be as simple as buying the cargo version of the krupp and then mounting a 20mm in the back.
so thanks fr all your help again guys Aaron
Pretty much that’s it. It was a field conversion and therefore no major work. The gun was set on a wooden plank floor that was fitted over where the seats go. The gun was held in place by either two blocks of wood bolted down beside the 3 gun platform 'legs" with another block going accross these, over where the leg sits between them. This was then bolted down and the ‘leveling’ struts on each leg of the gun platform was then wound up to jam the platform up against the top block. Some had iron bars bolted to the floor instead of the three blocks.
thanks for the info petbat you have answered my question thanks again and thanks to all who helped
