Krazy Glue...question

Does “Krazy Glue” have an expire date?

Just found a bunch of small one time use Krazy Glue tubes still in the packaging.

Could not find any date stamp on the package nor any expire date.

thoughts?

I use several brands of CA adhesives. None of the bottles I have have a date or expiration on them as purchased. I have seen info regarding storage - IE - in a sealable container or box, preferably with a desiccant pack in with it. Also, refrigerating them. I don’t do any of that. I always write the date I purchase it on the bottle with a magic marker. I have noticed that adhesive around a year or so old seems to take longer than “instant” to set. It also seems to me that it loses some strength, but that is just my opinion and I have never done any testing to verify that. Sometimes, if the bottle gets really old and has been opened and partially used, it will gel up or harden completely. EJ

If the little tubes are still sealed, not punctured the end, then I am sure they are fine.

It depends on the brand and the formula.

Following on GM’s comment, I’ve noticed, too, that unopened bottles last longer than opened. But I have also bought a couple of bottles at a pop, to lay in a reserve, and I have seen an unopened bottle get thick and eventually solidify, before I could use it.

It can’t hurt to try the ones you have. If the glue still flows, you can probably use it.

Thanks…just doing a few repairs to stuff and it seems to work fine. Cheers!

Now to get my fingers apart! LOL

Funny story…years ago a friend put a blob of glue in a pill bottle top and did a job. Got up and did some other stuff…heard strange noise…walked in the new kitten had put it’s paw into the pill bottle top and was rushing around with it stuck to it’s paw…much fun and panic catching kitten and getting it off. Kitten’s name changed from Fluff to Scratch!

Sorry about Scratch !

It is true that the stuff will set up in the bottle if not used . I discovered something weird .This may have something to do with that . I bought a bottle with a dispensor top for styrene cement . I kept the original screw top for storage . I kept smelling the glue even in the closed bottle . Lo and behold even with a good seal the glue had evaporated out !

If I buy enough now ( In Bulk ) , I put it in the same medium size storage bottles of Brown Glass . Like the ones you will see occassionally in a pharmacy . I have kept two large refill bottles of the thin , medium and thick each in it’s own bottle ( they each hold two refill bottles worth ) Some are now at least five years old . T.B.
