Korean War Era Tanker figures

I am doing a Korean War Era M4A3E8 and wanted to put some figures in it. The time frame my kit is March 1951 (which was still cold- pictures show snow on the ground). The pictures show a lot of the tankers wearing a cold weather hat with ear flaps, which I cannot seem to find anywhere. I saw a couple where they look like they were also wearing regular issue steel pot helmets. Didn’t see any where they had the common WWII style helmets. Does anyone know of any figures or replacement heads that might be appropriate? Also, any insite on Korean era head gear would be appreciated. Thanks!

Basically, any WWII tanker will do. The gear really didn’t change between WWII and Korean war. DML’s WWII US Tank Crew (NW Europe, 1944, #6045) has the steel pots with headset underneath, as well as the soft (football style) leather helmets, and the cold weather hood-type thingy. The figures in the Tamiya M26 are also in winter dress with one in steelpot and one with the hood/cap thing.

For resin, Verlinden does some soft helmet heads in thier WWII head sets. Warriors has a Winter WWII tank crew too. Alpine has winter tankers as well. I’m sure there are others out there too, there are lots of WWII tank figures in resin.

Warriors set.

Thanks!

I forgot to ask…was the football type helmet used in Korea?

Yes, the soft leather helmet was still used in Korea.

Thanks again
