Kondor ready to leave the nest

Just finished my second Koster 1/48 Kondor. This was a commission build and now has to be packaged for shipment but before that happens I thought I would share some pictures with you guys.

The boarding ladder and hatch are scratch built, the bomb load will be attached by my customer after delivery, the propellers are not premanently fixed yet and can be removed for shipping. The yellow bars seen through the starboard mid-window are part of the fuel distribution system. I started this build Dec. 26 2004 and finished it today. Whew!!!

That is niiiiice. Does the customer get the 109 too? I’m not familiar with Koster. Are they a specialty model outfit?

Dont know about you, but I’d have a hard time letting go of something I put that much work into and had it come out so splendidly.

Koster Aero Enterprises makes vacuform model kits. Bill Koster is the driving force and is also the guy that did many of the masters used by Monogram. The Monogram Do-217 is one of his for example. No, the 109 does not go with it, it is there for size reference only.

Awood, I have another hanging from my ceiling and this guy is paying a pretty penny indeed for this model. I am glad to get it off my workbench so I can start the next paying project.

VERY nice Swanny… very nice indeed.

If I may be so bold as to ask, what colors did you use?

Looks great, Matt. I was particularly amused by the Saturn-esque markings. Was that a real designation, or did you take artistic license?

Nice job, Swanny !

The radar antennas are very well executed.

Well done !

Modelnerd, that was a real designation.
Bill, thanks, those things were a PIA.
