Konami miniature tank toy

Hi Guys and Gals,

I dont know if anyone knows about this yet, but Konami (a Japanese company) has released a new toy called MicroIR.

What do they got to do with us tankers ? They made a miniature tank which can be remote controlled and do combat with other tank.

They dont come cheap thou.
The tank cost about $60 and the remote cost $40.

Hmmm, interesting…but from the pics that they have up, it looks as if the ‘realism’ doesn’t apply to how the tanks look. I guess we just have to strip off the r/c and rotational stuff and install it in our own tracks. I vote for modifying the dragon ‘Maus’ with this stuff…hehe…it wouldn’t have to ‘shoot’ at anything…just run em over…hey wait, thats a great dio idea, a maus running over a sherman, like M1s running over cars in Iraq!!

Believe it or not, the little micro RC and IR tanks were the gateway for me to become interested in modeling armor. I have 3 of the VSTank 1/24 scale RC tanks and several of the smaller 1/72 VSTank*R IR tanks. These vehicles are not for show, but for waging battles with each other. Both scales utilize IR cannons and machine guns to fire at their opponents. The small scale is great because you can construct crude dioramas for carrying out battles quickly, practically anywhere. The tanks have IR receivers and register hits. X number of hits will knock a tank. The larger scale are best suited for wide open spaces or outside. My two sons and I have a blast with these.
