KittyHawk MH-60L Black Hawk 1:35 scale

This will be the Number 68 build

This maybe the best detail kit I ever had .

Please enjoy

Rick

I been wanting this Black Hawk kit for the Number 69 build . The problem ,this kit is really expensive . A friend of mine gave me the email to kitty hawk where i bought it direct. .After i paid for the model, 4 days later it was at my house

Now that’s going to be one big bird! Looking forward to seeing your progress. Slow and steady wins the race when it comes to fine detailed kits like this. [B]

This looks to be epic!

Yes you are correct .

I believe it will be

Step one . Build seats . This will take me some time .Plus these parts are fragile . i got be careful

Rick

I have 6 seats glued up

Rick

SEATS . . . The 60 I rode in didn’t have any seats, except for one for the crew chief. Our squad just jumped in and parked our collective butts on the deck. But, hey, it was a ride home. The Lima must be the cushie model ride.

It’s looking good so far Rick. Not sure how I missed this the first time around.

The seats are added/removed/reconfigured as mission dictates. Any version of Black Hawk can have seats installed or not, it is not dependant on type (A, L, or M). More often than not, a standard UH-60 has the seats installed.

Exactly. The seats are removable. For many of my rides in Hawks the seats were removed and a web “donut” installed on the floor as an anchor point for our static lines. And a different anchor point set up was used for rappelling or fast roping lines. Of course with no seats and their harnesses, the door “safety strap” was installed across both open doors.

Can’t wait to see it.

I know those seats well, my buying group at Sikorsky purchased them for our Blackhawk line

Little catch up . I dutch the seats . For my build there is only the crew chief seat. I started dash ,Kitty Hawk could did have improve this part .The instrument panel attaches the the dash . They allowed a cut out on top the dash for alignment of the instrument panel . Now I have to fill this area

MK-230 canon box is finished

Rick

edit . it was pointed out .I posted wrong photo . Fixed

An easy fill/sand. You may want to check how the IP fits inside the fuselage as that area may be below the canopy and unseen anyways.

Also, you re-posted the IP pic for the ammo box pic.

Thank you

The manual is not to clear for me with options

I been slowly working on building fuel tanks . My reference photo below

I am working on building straps

If this thing called work was not in my way , I could get more done .

Enjoy

Rick

My friend Gino sent me private message today , He ask why I was building the feul tank when the kit supplied the tanks . He also sent photo from the manual .

My manual shows no fuel tanks or re fuel rods .

With Gino photo and part numbers , I do have the fuel tanks and fuel rods with my kit .

I’m not sure if Gino has same kit or Kitty Hawk left it out my manual .

Thank you Gino , I do need the fuel rod photo again for assemble if you don’t mind .

Rick

Glad to help. I have both the Kitty Hawk MH-60L and HH-60G kits. The instructions for the newer USAF HH-60G kit shows how to assemble the refueling probe and internal aux tanks. The plastic is all the same between the two kits, except for the G sprues, which have the MH-60L and HH-60G specific parts. I have resent the refueling probe instructions.

Dang, I’ve had the Pave Hawk on ‘pre-order’ (Kitlinx) for months now. I hope Gino having it means it’s coming everywhere soon.
