So the folks behind Kitty Hawk (and Panda) have announced they’re going out of business. Might want to stock up on those 'Hawk variants; there’s no telling if anyone else will be picking up those molds or how long it would take for production to ramp up again at a different company.
Unfortunately, it looks that way. Get them while you can.
Unfortunatly, Im not a Kitty Hawk kit fan. Ive attempted 2 of them and both ented up in the oval file. They have interesting subjects, but didnt think the quality was very good. If someone picks up the molds, I hope they make improvements.
Same. I was going to retry the MH60 until I read this post. They had the instructions all messed up and I ended up “scratch” building a 150$ model. There sure was a lot of detail though. Also a positive, I upped my filler game and tried some new filler products and new sand sticks. Trying to remain positive.
I didn’t find them too hard to build; a little fiddly here and there, but about average. I have built two of their 1/35 Hawks; MH-60L and HH-60G.
Here are mine: MH-60L backdated to MH-60A from Somalia: http://cs.finescale.com/fsm/modeling_subjects/f/16/t/186009.aspx?page=1
HH-60G Alaska Air Guard: https://archive.aeroscale.net/review/15165/
Which MH-60 were the directions a mess on? Kitty Hawk had a few misprints, but sent me PDFs of the instructions to fix it. I have them if anyone needs them.
Nooo!!!. Does anyone have the decal sheet that went with Kittyhawk’s 1/48 UH-1N Huey? Maybe we could figure out a decal swap or somethin. Wanted that kit; can’t find it now…
I have the UH-1D huey in the stash. I can state without question that the newer KH kits were amazing. They had some errors in the instructions, but the Viper is one of the finest kits I’ve ever tackled.
