Hi all

Forgive my ignorance but should all 1/48 helicopter kits have moving rotorblades? Very new to helicopter models.

Just finished the ROG 1/48 MH-60L which clearly shows “glue” and “don’t glue” symbols.

The Italeri 1/48 RAH-66, AH-64D and ROG 1/48 KA-50 don’t display symbols.

According to a review in FSM, the gun and flir rotate on the RAH-66, didn’t mention the rotorblades but that might be taken for granted?

Basically, no, depends on the kit. Some kits call for rotor blades to be glued in place, others don’t. I always build mine so the blades can be removed since I am in the military and move often.

Yeah, I prefer to leave my main rotors unglued. Like Gino, I tend to move a lot, so that really makes for easy transport. Plus, if you glue the main rotor in place and then later bang into it (sorry, I’m clumsy at times) you’re risking broken rotor blades, whereas if it is unglued, it just spins.

As far as other things moving on my models, I tend not to do that. I prefer to position things (like the Apache’s TADS/PNVS turret) and then glue them in place.
