Is Dragon’s 1/35 Sd. Kfz. 182 Kingtiger (Battle of Bulge) a good model?
I just bought this model … lots of parts, magic tracks, aluminum barrel, PE parts, and 8 bonus figures. I think it worth the money. As far as accuracy, I have no idea but it looks like a King Tiger to me. It was Highly recommended in every review I have read.
I say go for it.
Oh … and the instructions are in color, which is kind of cool for the painting guide.
I built it, it’s a great kit! Fit is very good! Nice detail too!
thaks, very helpfull i will pick it up soon.
bought my kingtiger today. will be arriving in a week or so. [:D]
I havent picked one up yet but i sure am tempted ![:)]
I think you may be referring to the other Battle of The Bulge KT kit #6254 - This one comes with the magic tracks (2 pieces per “link”) and 8 figures.
The kit referred to in the OP, #6232 has indy links, but they don’t appear to be magic tracks, and 4 figures.
well the one i ended up buying is kit 6254, however, you are correct that i was origonally refering to kit 6232
Ya I built that kit it turns into a great kit almost falls together it’s self , the magic tracks are great and the small P/E set is good the barrel is good just wish that they give you a metal muzzel brake.
here is some progress on the big cat
leave any advise
also any advise on how to glue the magic track together
I got to get one of these
Ja glue them
but seriously, put them together bottom and top then put some glue on and form then paint and put on tank
It’s a good model. Good fit and plenty of part selection. The tracks are easy to put together. I had to add some CA to the pegs that turns the cannon to make it tighter because the weight of the metal cannon makes it swing downward by itself when the model is moved. Enjoy it!
That is a nice looking Tiger .
watching paint dry
Paint looks good . What are you using ?
model master enamles
Schokoladenbraun, Panzer olivgrun, and a fuzzy lable that i cant read
painted with an airbrush
I recently purchased Tamiya’s “hull red” hoping for something a little more red than their “redbrown” color. It was not what I had hoped for. It looked rather like a dark chocolate candybar color. I am still searching for a red-brown color that will work for me. I even mixed the two Tamiya colors and was not happy. I understood that this hull red was supposed to look like the oxide primer, it sure didn’t turn out that way for me.
Mix german gray in with hull red.
german grey? i’ll give it a go. thanks
