King Tiger Interior Reference

Now that we’ve got the 1/16 Trumpeter King Tiger released…anybody know the best reference for interior photos? I’ve got two KT books, but they’re exclusively exterior photos.

well there aren’t that many KT’s around, end even fewer with a full interior.

However there are a few, one in France, there is one in German with most of it’s interior intact and im not sure about the ones at Bovington, but test vehicle 2 (the one with the “porsche” turret at Bovington) should have a more or less complete interior.

As for reference. Thomas L. Jentz’s book “VK 45.02 to Tiger II, Design, Production and modifications” is the best Tiger II reference around and has some interior pictures mostly of the turret.

Uwe Feist and Bruce Culver’s book “Schwere Panzer in detail” also has a few interior shots.

And Waldemar Trojca’s relatively new behemoth of a book “Pz.Kpfw. VI Tiger Ausf. B Königstiger, Technical and operational history” has some interior pictures in it, including some from the hull.

I wont say these 3 books have you covered but it’s the best you can get right now, there just aren’t alot of Tiger books with Tiger II interior pictures, and i should know cause i have more than 40 books about Tiger tanks.

VK 45 02 to Tiger II has a good collection of photos taken from inside the fighting compartments.

I just picked up Model Art Magazine’s “Super Detail Photo Book Vol. 8, Sd.Kfz.182 Pz.Kpfw.VI Kingtiger” to go along with my 1/16 Trumpeter kit…very good book.

About 100 pages with Color and black and white photos. Japanese and english text. Most color pictures are detail of every part of the tank, including interior, hull, engine, decks…plus very good detail explanation of each part in the photo…still no driver’s instrument dials though… seems I can not find any picture of the dials no mater where I look.

hey guys–

i have all the books mentioned in this thread. the only one with a shot of the drivers instrument cluster is Feist&Culver’s ‘Schwerer Panzer in Detail’ , and only one shot at that—tread[8D]
