King Tiger II engine coloring?

I’m looking for the coloring of the king tigers engine, I looked on the web plus in a few of my books but cant find the coloring, only b&w’s, does anyone know how they were painted?

I’ve seen one engine block that was in a German AFV, but it was in a Hetzer… It was dark grey (more or less Panzer Grey) but it was a restored vehicle so I can’t swear it’s right for King Tiger…

Dark grey-- grey/greens–black for some add on components and natural aluminum for appropriate aluminum parts.-----tread[8D]

One more qucik question! Would the walls encasing the engine be the same color or would they be primer red?

For the walls we have Grey, quite dark. I’m sure somebody else here will have better details. and definitely satin grey on the engine block.

I’ve done my KTII engine walls red (Vallejo Cavalry Brown), apart from where the fuel and radiators go.

If you take a look at my latest update you’ll see how I’ve painted the engine compartment.

Painted up the engine, let me know what you all think, the piping inside isnt red, its actually steel, and over top of that I stippled on 502 Abteilung dark rust, while it was wet I sprinkle MIG light rust on, if you ask me it came out to primer red looking, but oh well, I’ll know the difference.
