KHAKI what color is this...help

i dont use a lot of tamiya paints so what is the closest color to use in place of KHAKI? …thank you

First of all whose khaki? British. Japanese, US?
Khaki, pronounced carkey in English, is a Persian or Pharsee word for dust and that name was given to the dusty colour adopted by the British Army. The dye was originaly Coffie grounds or boiled tea leaves wich was not very permanent. This method of dying was used at the start of WW2 by sailors in the RAN to colour their white No.7s (I think) or shorts and shirt because of the lack of other suitable methods.

I’ve seen shades from tan to gray/green. My suggestion would be to find a photo of the particular item you want to paint, & try to match that color.

hi , if i lined up 20 battle dress blouses and trousers i would be hard pushed to get a match , khaki is the hardest colour to define , go with what you think is right who are we to tell you , you are wrong, cheers ian
